EWASS 2013: Solar Activity and Its Manifestations in the Whole Heliosphere Dear colleagues, We are inviting contributions to a symposium on Solar Activity and Its Manifestations in the Whole Heliosphere The Symposium will be a part of the European Week of Astronomy and Space Sciences, to be organized on 8-13 July 2013, in Logomo Centre, Turku, Finland. The goal of the two-day symposium (8-9 July 2013) is to present and discuss new results on solar activity and its manifestations in the entire heliosphere, including geospace and other planetary environments. The practical aspects of solar-driven variability in space environments (space weather) and the long-term changes in the solar activity and its effects in the heliosphere (space climate) will be covered as well. The program will be organized around the following themes – Solar eruptions: flares, coronal mass ejections and SEP events – Variability of the interplanetary medium driven by solar activity – Interaction of the variable solar wind with planetary environments – Space weather: short-term variability of space environments and its effects on technology – Space climate: long-term variability of the Sun and its effects on heliosphere – Solar effects in the Earth's atmosphere and climate Abstract deadline: 30 April 2013 Abstract submission: http://www.astro.utu.fi/EWASS2013/abstracts.php More information on the symposium: http://theory.physics.helsinki.fi/~ravainio/ewass-13/ More information on the EWASS 2013 http://www.astro.utu.fi/EWASS2013/ EWASS-13/S1 Organizers, Rami Vainio and Emilia Kilpua (University of Helsinki) Kalevi Mursula (University of Oulu) Eino Valtonen (University of Turku) *** this message was sent to the CESRA email list *** http://www.lesia.obspm.fr/cesra/
