Coronographie solaire / Solar coronagraphy: New techniques, new questions
Objectifs scientifiques
... Coronal seismology and coronal magnetometry are opening new windows into our diagnostics of coronal plasma and magnetic fields. Having related the high temperatures in the corona to the release of magnetic energy through reconnection at different scales and conveyed through waves, the measurement of these coronal waves is one of the most interesting aspects of present and future coronal observations, altogether with the always desired and now coming into reality measurement of coronal magnetic fields. The two techniques are witnessing a grow in interest that is reflected in the refurbishement of old coronagraphs and the construction of new ones in ground observatories. This session wishes to address the prospects of this observational frenzy, in the coronagraphy made at Pic du Midi and its synergy with other coronal observations made from space and with radio instruments in the framework of our present models of the solar corona décrire ici brièvement les objectifs scientifiques
