A number of projects with the Spitzer Space Telescope have focused on the finding debris disks around nearby main sequence stars. We will summarize the results of these projects and discuss their importance for the detection of planets. These observations reveal the limitations of a single small telesocpe for finding debris disks at the level of our own solar system. Interferometers will be required to reach levels below about 50 times that of our own zodiacal cloud.
