COROT/ light curve simulator

Version 2.0 , July 6th 2006
In several oportunities, we felt the need to simulate light curves with characteristics representative of what can be expected for COROT. This was the case in several H&H exercises held within the Data Analysis team.
We here propose such a simulator that includes
variations due to solar-like oscillations, stellar granulation, stellar
magnetic activity and instrumental (photon) as expected for COROT. At
the moment, perturbations expected at the harmonics of the orbital
period have been excluded but further versions of the package will
include such perturbations. Check this page regularly for these new
versions.
The package contains an IDL routine, associated
auxiliary files and a README.
The figure below shows an example obtained for a 150 day time series
for a mV=8, 1.50Mo star, aged of 2.4 Gyr. The power spectrum includes
the different components of the simulated signal: oscillations,
granulation, magnetic activity and photon noise).
