CASSINI/MAPS Workshop 2010
Meudon Observatory, 7-9 April 2010
Venue & Accommodation
The Meudon Observatory is located uphill the Seine river in the south-west suburbs of Paris, at 162 meters above sea level. There are several possibilities for lodging in Paris and in Meudon. The Paris option is better for tourism and night life but the drawback is that the rail transportations only brings you up half of the hill (about 80 meters above sea level). There is a hourly city shuttle bus that brings you at the entrance of the Observatory from the Bellevue train station. If you don't want to walk 20 minutes or wait for the city shuttle, you may book a hotel in Meudon-la-Forêt. That option requires a car, a taxi or a 30 minute (flat) walk in the forest.
