Venue

Last minute Warnings :
  1. For those arriving at CDG airport, usually there is a direct train by RER B from CDG to Paris. Due to works on the line, the train is replaced by a bus - but should be indicated at RER B station in CDG airport
  2. Starting with Tuesday, working sessions are at Meudon Observatory. When arrived at the entrance of the public park, don't enter ! Just look to the right, you will see the entrance to the Observatory: a small door. There is a PIN. To get it, please look at your email !

There are two sites for the workshop: Paris and Meudon Observatories. Paris Observatory can be accessed by Metro.
Meudon Observatory can be easily reached by Public Transportation (trains).
We recommend therefore booking a hotel in Paris and commuting each day by train. The 14-th district (arrondissement) is the best choice (see accomodation).

There are two possibilities to access the Paris Observatory by train. We recommend the first one.

1) Train

At Paris-Montparnasse station (SNCF : French railways), take the trains going to Sèvres Rive Gauche (every 15 min.) or (rarely) to Versailles-Chantiers, Rambouillet, Chartes, etc... Make sure the train stops at the Meudon or Bellevue stations (see below).

  • Get out at the 3rd station: Meudon (after Vanves-Malakoff and Clamart). Outside station, turn to the right, after 200 m turn again to the right then straight ahead up to the top of the hill along an avenue lined with stately chestnut trees.

  • Or get out at the 4th station: Bellevue. Outside station, turn left on the avenue du Château: the entrance of the Observatory is on the top of the hill.

2) RER C

The RER ligne C (suburban train system): Take the train going in the direction of Versailles Rive Gauche and get out at the Meudon-Val Fleury station. Follow the direction of Meudon not Clamart (you'll be better ask your way...)

Don't forget : the way towards the Meudon Observatory is always uphill, whichever way you choose. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to go from any of the Meudon train stations to the Observatory.

Once arrived, use the map of the Meudon Observatory.
